This past Saturday, JACK’S PLACE For Autism Foundation, in collaboration with the Downriver Family YMCA, held their Trunk or Treat Halloween Family Fun Day event at the Downriver Family YMCA’s facility in Southgate. The event saw 983 attendees for the evening, surpassing the attendance total from last year. Lisa Price, President and Co-Founder of JACK’S PLACE For Autism Foundation, said the attendance marker was something to be proud of.
“The Foundation prides itself on being able to establish a connection to the community,” she said. “A lot of families came to us this evening, thanking us for putting this event together for the community. We are tremendously thankful for them being such a strong and loyal community that will come to support us, while enjoying a night with their family and friends.”
Kids were able to collect treats, play on air-inflated playgrounds such as a slide and obstacle course, take photos with JACK’S PLACE mascot Augie the Spectrum Dog and Detroit Tigers mascot Paws, play various games and more. The event concluded with a costume contest.
JACK’S PLACE For Autism Foundation would like to thank all of the attendees who made it to the event. The Foundation would also like to thank its volunteers who sacrificed a Saturday night to support the event, as well as the Downriver Family YMCA for allowing us to work with them and host the Trunk or Treat Halloween Family Fun Day.
